Seiko Optical Launches 1.74 AR with a New & Improved Monomer

MAHWAH, NJ--Seiko Optical Products of America announces the introduction of a new 1.74 AR finished single-vision lens with SuperClean advanced hydrophobic coating.

Mike Rybacki, Seiko Optical Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing stated, "Our new 1.74 product is made with a new and improved 1.74 index monomer that is more stable, less heat sensitive and easier to process than the two 1.74 monomers currently available. The lenses use Seiko's patented and proven MX aspheric design, which corrects primary lens aberrations, and provides a spherical fitting button in the center of the lens that provides instant patient accommodation. Our factory coated AR is known for its durability and our SuperClean super-hydrophobic topcoat actually repels dust, dirt and grime and makes the lenses easier than ever to keep clean."

The 1.74 is available in ultra-thin 65mm diameter plus spheres from +1.00 to +6.00, out to a -2.00 cylinder; in minus spheres from -2.00 to -10.00, out to a -3.00 cylinder (total power -9.00 diopters); and in spheres only from -10.50 to -15.00 in half diopter steps.

Mr. Rybacki concluded, "Seiko Optical has always been at the leading edge of high-index lens design, and we are very excited to introduce this 1.74 product in the new monomer."
